About the Program Our Valuation & Advisory Services Business Innovation program accelerates your learning and development by providing you with a strong foundation upon which to build your technology, finance or real estate career. During this six-month program we will introduce you to our company, our fast-paced industry, and our world-class professionals. A successful candidate will join "The Lab" in CBRE's VAS Business Operations Team. The team supports approximately 1,000 professionals across 90 offices in the Americas. The team's mission is to improve profitability through technology and innovation by designing and implementing processes and tools used to produce over 50,000 commercial real estate appraisals per year. You will know you are a good fit for this program if you are always looking for a more effective and efficient way to complete tasks through the use of technology and can quickly and effectively gain valuable insights from large data sets. The 1st Half 2021 ("Spring") internship will begin in January 2021 and end in June 2021. Responsibilities Development of technology tools to improve appraiser and employee productivity Collaborate with our Valuation technology SMEs to explore innovation opportunities with our existing toolset. Contribute to technology initiatives in support of the VAS Operations Team related to our financial modeling, report writing, business analytics and data visualization solutions Assist in Portfolio Valuation team with project tracking Support our Business Operations in our day-to-day activities Provide ongoing support of our professionals including market research, data gathering and reporting format updates Other responsibilities as assigned Qualifications The program is designed for results-oriented and entrepreneurial candidates with a strong academic background, preferably in computer science, finance, investment banking, data science business or real estate. Applicants should be self-motivated, creative, disciplined and exhibit a demonstrated interest in the commercial real estate industry. Applicants should have a desire to drive innovation in the commercial real estate industry using the latest technologies and tools. Current college junior, senior, or graduate level student Desire to work in the commercial real estate industry Detail-oriented and highly organized Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Solid written and oral communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Required Experience: Microsoft Office 365 Suite and is considered an Excel power user Preferred experience: Programming Languages - VBA, C# / VSTO, Python or other similar languages Data Analysis - Data Query Languages (e.g. SQL, PostgreSQL) and Data Visualization tools or packages Application Process To be considered for a position with CBRE, please apply online at https://cbre.referrals.selectminds.com/ where you can search all job openings on the homepage.
