What is the opportunity?

RBC Global Asset Management (“RBC GAM”) is the asset management division of Royal Bank of Canada (“RBC”) a global financial services company, and consists of a number of affiliated entities around the globe, all subsidiaries of RBC. As an important member of a newly established team, you will have the opportunity to be a key contributor and influencer in the early stages of the creation and build out of a comprehensive “Private Markets Investments” platform.  A key focus for RBC GAM is to expand its capabilities in private markets and other illiquid asset classes, including real estate and mortgages. We are excited about the growth potential and ultimate scale of the private markets platform at RBC GAM.

What will you do?

Mortgage Group – primary role (60%)

• Support the portfolio management of RBC GAM’s four current mortgage funds including involvement in the overall fund positioning and investor communications
• Support the sourcing, structuring, recommending and approval of potential mortgage investments
• Contribute to the  development and marketing of new commercial mortgage funds
• Assume a direct role in developing an automated portfolio monitoring system for the mortgage fund platform

Real Estate Equity Group – secondary role (20%)

• Support the portfolio management of RBC GAM’s Canadian Core Real Estate Fund including investor communications
• Support the sourcing, structuring, recommending and approval of potential real estate investment transactions
• Contribute to the  development and marketing of new real estate funds
• Assume a direct role in developing an automated portfolio monitoring system for the existing direct real estate fund platform

Private Markets Group – team member role (20%)

• Participate in select Private Markets research initiatives as required (Private Equity, Infrastructure and Private Credit product development)
• Provide investor communications support across the Private Markets fund platform
