As Realty Income's Head of European Investment Strategy, you will work with the leadership team to drive a core plank of the company’s growth. This includes: - Identifying attractive industries and underwriting tenants (i.e., clients) within them.
- Thought leadership on investment themes that cut across geographies for a set of industries (e.g., automotive) or new asset classes
- Collaborating on strategic projects with high organizational impact (e.g., M&A).
Being successful will require working closely with the European leadership team, Research, Asset Management, Legal, Finance and Tax to develop and evolve investment insights. These insights will be periodically shared with the Investment Committee and the Board of Directors as part of scheduled updates or in relation to transactions. The Head of European Investment Strategy will build and lead a team over time to support the company’s investment activities across geographies, industries, and asset classes. Your Contribution to the Team Includes: Investment Strategy - Formulate multi-year investment strategy across Europe working with the European leadership team and Investment Committee
- Prioritize investment focus based on macro (country or continental) and micro (industry and regional) drivers of investment returns in Europe
- Translate strategy into tactical plans for acquisition, including sourcing strategy and client (i.e., tenants) lists for transactions, potential capital partnerships, or joint ventures with developers/operators
Investment Research - Create industry forecasts for target industries leveraging external research, advisory relationships, proprietary research, and predictive analytics; periodically update forecasts to keep research current
- Leverage proprietary credit underwriting infrastructure to analyze and update client (i.e., tenant) financials
- Prepare discussion materials for Investment Committee or the Board of Directors
Business Development - Evaluate new geographies and asset classes efficiently using a process of triage and leveraging advisory relationships
- Screen for public and private M&A targets suitable to the company’s investment strategy using both top-down financial modeling and bottom-up analysis of individual assets/clients (i.e., tenants)
- Participate in or lead discussions on business development, including but not limited to M&A, partnerships, or joint ventures
