JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to provide manager-level expertise, leadership and guidance in the implementation and management of CBRE career development initiatives, heavily weighted toward the CBRE technical apprenticeship program. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible to manage the internal and external technical talent pipeline to include developing and maintaining positive relationships with CBRE HR & Recruiting, account leaders, technicians, trade and vocational schools and Career and Technical Skills Organizations (CTSOs). Talent pipeline to be supported ranges from apprentices to technical leaders across North America.
The candidate must possess expert-level technical skills in commercial real estate maintenance and operations, preferably in a diverse portfolio. Employees in this position may be required to travel (air, land and sea) with minimal advance notice.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive success with CBREs apprenticeship program.
Provide leadership with respect to developing recruiting campaigns focused on improving diversity amongst CBRE technician workforce, to include recruiting and retention, with a strong focus on apprenticeship.
Support and maintain a strategic plan for technician succession with an expectation to promote from within between accounts and backfill openings with interns and/or apprentices.
Actively participates in technical employee recruiting and interviewing efforts.
Coordinates, collaborates and directly engages with division and account employees to ensure successful implementation of CBRE apprenticeship and career development initiatives.
Leads, supports and promotes corporate training, educational and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Performs analysis of highly technical work order data and draws conclusions based on that data to enhance business performance.
Responsible for business unit financial performance.
Provides recommendations for tactical and strategic planning.
Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES
May be responsible for a mix of direct and matrix reports. May approve subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval.
Monitors appropriate staffing levels and reports on utilization and deployment of human resources.
Leads and supports staff in areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising and rewarding performance and retention.
Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's RISE (Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence) values.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Expert-level experience with building systems to include HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, building automation, carpentry and all systems related to commercial building operation. Minimum 7 years experience.
Experience with apprenticeship programs preferred.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university and/or a minimum of ten years of related experience and/or training
Previous supervisory experience required.
Demonstrated organizational skills, project planning and management, team building, and experience with quality management and measurement processes and tools.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
Must have appropriate license or certification where required by law.

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, presentations and articles.
Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.
FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
Requires basic to intermediate knowledge of financial terms and principles.

Physical requirements include: Must be physically able to perform basic maintenance tasks to the highest caliber, which includes ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces and lift heavy objects weighting up to 50 lbs.
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office suite and intranet/internet. Ability to use various work order systems preferred.
Working knowledge and understanding of architectural, electrical, and mechanical systems. Understanding of leases, contracts and related documents preferred.
