JOB SUMMARY Assumes responsibility for the programming maintenance of multiple internal commercial real estate databases by developing new applications designed to aggregate information and make EA data and reports more accessible to Economists, Website Programmers, and the larger organization. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Verifies the referential, mathematical, statistical, and logical integrity of data stored within EA databases and provides assistance and advice to the EA development team and the larger CBRE, as necessary. Writes, runs, and enhances existing applications in T-SQL or a .NET language in Visual Studio. Uses Entity-Relationship (ER) diagramming tools to model databases, map data, and create data dictionaries that will lead to the completion of database containers. Extracts, transforms, and loads (ETL) quarterly and monthly data to support products on the EA website, special requests from CBRE, and processes related to forecasting with economists. Supports CBRE EA forecasting team with programming and data problems, as necessary. Helps educate Economists on the variables that they will be using and forecasting in the real estate sector for the end purpose of publication on CBRE websites. Creates and maintains cartographic boundaries in order to preserve building data and location analytics. Prepares and provides mapping for presentations and for the development of potentially new products. Establishes coding standards and practices and identifies new technologies for the purpose of maintaining up-to-date functionality and premium usability of the website and other CBRE web applications. Provides tools to check the aggregative consistency on CBRE's website for the QC team. Performs special requests and custom downloads to be deigned and delivered on an ad hoc basis in SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, the website, and Microsoft Office programs. Performs other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate and assign tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project. Works as a principal member of a team to perform larger projects. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a related field such as information systems, mathematics, or computer science. Requires technical knowledge in multiple disciplines/processes. Typically, has 3 - 5 years of relevant work experience. CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES None COMMUNICATION SKILLS Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information. FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis. REASONING ABILITY Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL) and T-SQL Stored Procedures, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Understanding of database connectivity using ODBC or OLEDB and database design fundamentals (Visio / ER Design Studio). Experience with SSIS/SSRS, SSAS, Visual Studio, and geo-spatial software is preferred. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY Decisions made with understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Responsible for setting own project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
