Your team You'll be working in the Global Wealth Management Credit Lending Legal team of based in Hong Kong and Singapore. Together with the lending specialists in the bank we structure, negotiate and document a wide range of large and/or complex secured credit transactions tailored to the needs of the bank's sophisticated wealth management clients. We understand the issues that arise for the bank in creating and perfecting security interests in different types of assets. You can be working on a large single stock loan against listed equities the client has a strategic stake in one day and be concerned with lending against pre-IPO shares, commercial real estate, performance-linked notes, or hedge fund units the next and in a number of jurisdictions. No two days are the same.
As an experienced Structured Lending lawyer, you'll be a trusted advisor to Global Wealth Management by delivering best-in-class transaction support on credit lending matters to effectively manage our legal risk.
Also you will be providing advice on the legal and regulatory issues regarding banking operations and activities, including advising on new services.
fully qualified as a lawyer in Hong Kong, Singapore or a Commonwealth jurisdiction
have an analytical aptitude in advising Hong Kong legal and regulatory matters
have accumulated a minimum of 5 years of experience of working as an in-house finance lawyer or in private practice or a combination of both
able to work independently with minimal supervision
strong written and verbal communicator, able to translate legal issues into business terms for non-lawyer audience
methodical, organized and detail orientated
motivated and skilled at driving a proactive solution-oriented process
