The Real Estate Attorney will primarily provide legal advice and support land use, property management, and disposition-related matters relative to assigned federal or state Superfund sites, facilities regulated under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), former service station sites, and other hazardous waste sites in the United States for the several environmental response and custodial trusts for which Greenfield provides professional services.
Education and Training
JD from credentialed university
Active bar license in good standing in at least one state
8 or more years of commercial real estate practice in law firm or as in-house counsel
Technical proficiency in reviewing and advising on title, survey, zoning, and other land use matters
Experience drafting and negotiating letters of intent, confidentiality agreements, purchase and sale agreements, easements, construction agreements, professional service agreements, deeds, and related closing documents
Experience reviewing and advising on property appraisals and other valuation-related materials
Ability to support real estate and technical teams with third-party maintenance and insurance-related matters
Excellent, clear, and effective verbal communication skills
Superior writing skills
Highly attentive to detail
Ability to multitask and prioritize competing tasks
Strong work ethic
Ability to foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment
Additional Desired Qualifications:
Experience with contaminated property transactions (including, for example, federal or state Superfund sites, RCRA facilities, and/or other hazardous waste sites)
Pro-active approach to communications
Ability to communicate legal concepts to non-attorneys
