Real Estate Capital Markets (RECM) specializes in originating commercial real estate loans intended for CMBS securitization or that will be held on the Bank’s balance sheet. The group originates loans in all major markets across the US on varying property types and with loan amounts ranging from $1 million to $1B.
As RECM’s Regional Head of CMBS and Balance Sheet Loan Origination, this professional will lead origination and client development efforts throughout the Southeastern US. They and their team will work directly with middle market and institutional sponsors as well as mortgage bankers on origination of both CMBS and balance sheet loans. In addition to maintaining personal origination/production goals, this professional will lead, train, and grow a dynamic and skilled team of originators, underwriters, associates, and analysts. While leading these efforts and this team, they will work meticulously with our clients to best understand their financing needs and provide creative solutions. In addition, they will help their team manage client relationships and work with internal partners, investors and rating agencies to achieve the team’s origination goals.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Maintaining thorough knowledge of CMBS and balance sheet loan products as well as advanced market intelligence to maintain competitive edge
Taking a lead relationship management role with clients and establishing new contacts with a goal of generating widespread client relationships for the group
Originating commercial real estate loans for clients based in the Southeastern markets
Guiding the origination team through their origination efforts
Executing on tough decisions and delivering criticism effectively when necessary
Building new and maintaining existing relationships internally and externally as well as promoting teamwork amongst the entire CRE business by encouraging referrals and collaboration
Maintaining an in depth knowledge of commercial real estate and capital markets and excelling at managing internal and external relationships
Maintaining strong knowledge of the commercial real estate market and CMBS industry as a whole
Collaborating with the pricing desk and with senior credit risk officers to ensure that the loans originated by Southeast team are structurally sound and sufficiently mitigate risk
Responsible for financial performance of business which includes a combination of individual performance, business performance, and other factors
Develop and executing an effective strategy to deliver on customer financial needs
Driving positive growth and increased market share based on market opportunities
Engagement with internal partners to further enhance collaboration and customer experience
Taking an active and strategic approach in executing the line of business market growth plan and contributing to the achievement of financial objectives
Appropriately managing the team’s balance sheet portfolio
Preparing relationship plans for both customers and strategic prospects
