Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepares multi-company financial statements to include balance sheet, income statement, payroll analysis, work in process schedule, and intercompany departmental statements to comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
Provides financial analysis to measure the company’s performance and reports significant differences to management.
Maintains a system of accounting policies and procedures, implements controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
Establishes and maintains banking protocols to authenticate transactions for authorized use.
Oversees operations of the Accounting Department, which includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, job costing, and payroll.
Identifies innovative solutions to improve departmental processes and efficiencies.
Files quarterly and annual payroll reports to comply with federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
Procures and maintains compliance with multi-jurisdictional licenses, taxes, etc.
Responsible for the procurement and safeguard of company assets, vehicles, and equipment.
Provides financial analysis for capital investments, insurance, pricing decisions and contract negotiation.
Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
Perform other duties/projects as assigned.
Manages, trains and mentors the Accounting Staff.
Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff members.
Provides constructive and timely Catalytic Coaching meetings.
Coordinates onboarding and training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff.
Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Knowledge, Experience, and Special Skills Required:
Bachelor’s Degree Accounting, Business Administration or related field required.
Minimum ten years accounting, or related field experience required; knowledge of construction industry preferred; or a combination of education and experience.
Certified Public Accountant or possesses requirements for candidacy.
Excellent management and supervisory skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, advanced Excel skills.
Proficient in Accounting Software, Sage Timberline preferred.
Excellent customer service skills.
Must be a team player, able to meet strict deadlines and work with minimal supervision.
Experience working in a fast paced, ever changing environment.
Ability to perform duties in a digital/paperless environment.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Individuals should be able to reach above and below, stoop and bend, sit, walk, stand. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times, pick up boxes and/or bulky items on an occasional basis as an essential part of the job. Minimum of 40 hours per week required. Works hours will vary depending on project specifications and may involve weekends and night work. Able to travel as needed.
