Commercial Mortgage Servicing (CMS) is the industry leader and provider of real estate loan servicing in the United States, with global locations in India. CMS provides the best in class mortgage servicing for a variety of third party customers and stakeholders, including Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities (CMBS), Mortgage Backed Securities (MBS), US Government-Sponsored Entities (GSE), US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Interim Lenders, Specialized Warehouse Lenders, and Secondary-Market Lenders. CMS also provides loan and portfolio level asset management for SRE/Real Estate Capital markets (RECM) balance sheet loans and loan and facility level asset management for Commercial Mortgage Loan Finance (CMLF). Services include: payment and escrow processing, cash and treasury management, asset management and surveillance - loan covenants, borrower consent requests, and investor reporting and collateral administration.
The Head of CMBS Asset Management in CMS will lead and direct a team of approximately 41 professionals, including 3 Team Leads plus 19 Asset Managers and 19 Credit Analysts in all aspects of asset management for a 15,000 loans, equating to a $302 billion CMBS portfolio. This leader will be ultimately responsible for all loan, pool and portfolio surveillance activities, administration of loan covenants and requirements, and Borrower consent requests.
This leader will drive a culture of responsiveness and efficiency in order to meet our clients broad and complex needs, and to deliver a positive experience.
Primary responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
Ensuring all asset management is executed in conformance with the underlying loan documents, pursuant to the terms of the applicable Pooling & Servicing Agreements (PSA’s) and subject to the Servicing Standard
Ensuring appropriate risk mitigation in monitoring and addressing loan covenants/triggers, reviewing and processing Borrower consent requests including leases, property management changes, assumptions and others
Leading risk management efforts associated with our Advancing obligations pursuant to PSA requirements, we manage risk pursuant to Bank policies and procedures
Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders including CMS partners such as Portfolio Surveillance and Reporting, Leasing, Assumptions, and Operations and Relationship Management teams, Internal Audit, Control, Testing & Validation, and others
Ensuring continued strong working relationships with key external stakeholders including Rating Agencies, Special Servicers, B Piece Buyers/Controlling Class Representatives, and others
Representing CMS Asset Management with industry organizations including Commercial Real Estate Finance Council "CREF-C", the Mortgage Bankers Association "MBA" and others

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to read and understand basic commercial real estate loan or real estate investment documentation, securitization documents, including pooling and servicing agreements and related documentation
Other Desired Qualifications
10+ years of commercial real estate experience, with significant experience in CMBS asset management and related CRE disciplines
Proven leadership and relationship management skills
Strong risk management experience
Agility to adapt to changes in regulatory, compliance, technological, and market conditions/requirements
