Duke Realty, one of the largest commercial real estate companies in the United States with industrial/logistic real estate properties in 20 major U.S. cities, has an opportunity for a Claims Manager to join our Risk Management team in the Atlanta, GA office. The selected candidate will be responsible for the handling and supervision of reported Workers Compensation, General Liability, Property, Builders Risk, Mold and Environmental claims/incidents including insured litigation as the primary company liaison for claims. This individual will set the strategy of claims management (in partnership with Legal) and play a role in the overall Risk Management Strategy for Duke Realty Corporation. A predisposition towards teamwork and personal responsibility will be critical to a candidate’s success. Additional responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Fields and appropriately notifies the insurance companies and brokers of all Workers Compensation, General Liability, Property, Builders Risk, Mold and Environmental claims reported both internally and externally.
Manages all claims and claims-related issues for the Company’s Workers Compensation, General Liability, Property, Builders Risk, Mold and Environmental claims. Works with internal operational teams to obtain information pertinent to the individual claim and support and facilitate the claims resolution process. Responsible for escalating and coordinating large losses above scope of authority.
Manages the litigation process; including negotiating external defense attorney firms and rates and determines cost effective strategies for claims resolution.
Coordinates any and all Workers Compensation managed care and return to work issues involving Duke Realty Associates.
Manages OSHA postings
Interfaces with insurance carrier adjusters, consultants and assigned legal representatives and Duke Third Party Administrators for claims resolution.
Identifies claim recoveries, including but not limited to subrogation, 3rd party contractors, mediation and any other means for reimbursement.
Bachelor degree in Business/Insurance, Business Administration, and Economics or equivalent education/experience required.
5 years of experience in the handling of multi-line insurance claims or related insurance experience required. Experience as a claims manager for an insurer, third party administrator, broker or Corporate Risk Management department is preferred. Experience in Real Estate and/or Construction Industry is a plus.
Experience with a RMIS system a plus - Riskonnect
Possess strong initiative and effective organizational skills.

Ability to establish and maintain rapports and interact with various levels of professionals.

Additional Salary Information: 10% annual bonus potential based on salary
