The Opportunity
The VP will lead a team of valuation analysts responsible for the completion of assignments in connection with commercial real estate valuation, risk analysis and consulting projects. Assignments may include data collection and market research, analyzing complex highest and best use scenarios, analyzing revenue and expense performance, estimating of cash flows utilizing discounted cash flow models, analyses of comparable sales, detailed cost analyses, and drawing market comparisons in developing opinions of value.
What it takes to be successful in this role
- Identify and measure the value of clients real property assets by preparing analyses which include direct capitalization and discounted cash flow analyses.
- Analyze the credit risk of clients portfolios.
- Perform local and national real estate market analysis on a wide range of public and private entities using all accepted and relevant valuation approaches.
- Lead periodic conference calls, meetings and internal risk rating discussions with various clients.
- Perform data collection and market research, analyzing revenue and expense performance, developing cash flows utilizing discounted cash flow models, analyses of comparable sales, detailed cost analyses, and drawing market comparisons in developing opinions of value.
- Review industry surveys and benchmarks, economic and demographic trends.
Travel Expectations
Minimal domestic and international travel required (10-20%)
Work Location
Due to the nature of the responsibilities, this role allows for some remote work, but is primarily required to be onsite within a designated Berkadia office.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises non-supervisory employee(s). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications
- General Appraisal License - preferred
- Proficient in ARGUS and capable of developing discounted cash flow modeling in Excel
- Minimum three years of recent commercial real estate valuation experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Strong analytical, comprehension and problem-solving skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments and manage rapidly changing assignments in a team environment
