The position will assist in the origination, underwriting, due diligence, credit analysis, closing and administration of the Commercial Real Estate loan portfolio.
Collect and analyze financial and related data to establish credit worthiness, and within specified parameters, negotiate credit terms and/or make recommendations. Prepare credit analysis to include analysis of potential credit and/or tenant.
Provide credit and sales support services to the Lenders including: participation on pre-screen calls, preparation of credit approval packages, credit renewals, credit and non-credit proposals, and assistance with loan closings.
Perform property inspections. Determine need for, evaluate and monitor borrower corrective action plans related to the property inspection results.
Approve construction requisitions for commercial construction activity. Review construction projects to ensure on budget and on schedule requirements are met. Review and meet with Construction Consultants; order date down endorsements, fund construction advances, track construction loans; and ensure that project advances are granted on lien free properties
Work with the Account Officers on complex collateral issues, interest rate modifications, participations, and other processes. Monitor participations in and out, to ensure effective communication.
Monitor loan compliance by testing loan covenants and performance thresholds. Where applicable, ensure that Borrowers and Lenders are addressing any non-compliance issues.
Ensure that internal Risk Ratings are accurate and reflect current conditions. Track and alert senior management to any negative trends within the portfolio.
Perform stress tests as well as global cash flow analysis on new and existing borrowers. Conduct analysis to determine impact on portfolio relative to economic, market and catastrophic events.
Serve as the primary contact for the Credit Department on annual reviews of existing loans. Serve as a secondary point of contact for external Customers.
Assist other Lenders in analyzing new and/or existing IRE credits
Keep abreast of local and national economic, financial, political and legislative events and trends that could have an impact on lending activities. Ensures full compliance with the Bank's Information Security Policies and Procedures.
Performs all duties in accordance with prescribed regulatory compliance guidelines.
Resolve customer problems and/or complaints as they arise.
Interface with other areas of the Bank to ensure that all relationships are maintained properly.
Perform community service and participate in community affairs to increase the Bank's visibility and to enhance new business opportunities, including CRA initiatives.
Bachelor's Degree and Credit Training.
At least three years of commercial real estate credit and/or business lending experience.
Effective analytical, organizational, business development, presentation, problem-solving, negotiation and customer service skills.
Must possess at least intermediate technology skills, including knowledge of word processing, database and spreadsheet applications.
Must be able to travel throughout defined market.
