McCoy’s Building Supply, headquartered in San Marcos, TX has 85 locations in three states and is a major supplier of building materials to Consumers, Remodeling Professionals, and Builders.  We are seeking to add a professional Real Estate Associate to our commercial real estate team with a starting salary of $60,000.  Responsibilities include acquiring sites for new locations and involvement in a wide range of commercial real estate matters.  The preferred candidate will have experience in market analysis, commercial site selection and site development.

Working with real estate brokers, attorneys, engineers, property owners and city officials will require great communication skills.  Working closely with McCoy’s owners and executives will provide a great opportunity to contribute to and influence the growth strategy of a billion-dollar company.  A high level of integrity, judgment and maturity is critical.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Bachelor’s college degree with a real estate emphasis or equivalent experience in the commercial real estate and/or real estate development field
• Strong relational skills with experience in navigating complex political landscapes
• Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to take complex concepts and communicate them clearly and accurately
• Experience working independently and collaboratively.  Able to inspire confidence and trust.
• Strong computer proficiency.  Excellent in MS Office applications.  Evidence of ability to learn new software such as GIS, SketchUp or CAD Computer Aided Drafting

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance database of information on all relevant competitors
• Analyze and identify sites for new locations. Create statistical analyses to drive informed decision-making, integrating GIS technology, demographics and psychographics
• Perform analysis to determine appropriate offer prices for property acquisition and sales
• Prepare letters of intent with oversight of Real Estate Manager and legal counsel
• Facilitate due diligence process through feasibility phase with engineers and consultants
• Approximately 30% to 40% travel is required
