In this role, you will:
Perform, review, and research complex operational account activities related to maintaining ledger accounts and developing reports
Provide operational accounting support for internal business groups or operations departments
Review data from the general ledger, unit reports and various systems to ensure accuracy
Gather and review operational or financial data for regulatory reports
Prepare and review account reconciliations and certifications
Review operational accounting procedures, methods or systems
Identify and resolve complex or unique issues
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Review customer financials/transactions which may be in support of business group products
Provide in-depth business analysis and develop long-term strategies to optimize group or company performance
Conduct research and analysis to develop operational or financial data for reports
Manage implementation of complex operational accounting projects having critical impact on the group or company
Review account reconciliations and certifications
May have direct/indirect interactions with customers, clients or vendors
Provide functional advice or training to lower level operational accounting positions
Apply extensive specialized knowledge and act as internal consultant or final authority in area of expertise
Plan, coordinate, and execute primary and secondary customer market projects
Manage or participate on large cross group projects and mentor less experienced staff
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, external contractors, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
4+ years of Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
4 years of accounting experience
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including accounting functions
BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics
4 years of consultative business analysis experience
Experience analyzing large data sets
Ability to act as a subject matter expert relating to General Ledger Accounting
Outstanding problem solving skills
Strong analytical skills including the ability to research and resolve confirmation discrepancies
Strong variance analysis skills
Strong, clear and concise written and oral communication skills
Knowledge and experience in the servicing of commercial mortgages
Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively while meeting tight deadlines with accuracy and minimal supervision.
Self-starter and motivated individual who can work both independently and in a challenging, team-oriented work environment
Proven track record of problem-solving and process improvement
Knowledge or familiarity of Microsoft Access
Ability to work outside of normal business hours as needed
Ability to come to the Charlotte office 3 days of the week, with 2 days remote option
