The Special Projects Manager is based in Newark, NJ/Brooklyn, NY and works closely with the Senior Manager and the rest of the TFM Management Team on the successful operation, scheduling and overall management of a federal total facilities management (TFM) contract. Fedcap is seeking an experienced, highly organized, analytical, detail-oriented self-starter with a strong technical background and excellent communication skills to join the team. The Special Projects Manager is customer centered and interacts with the customer at various levels while conducting official business on behalf of Fedcap. This position is present during regular workweek hours, although has flexibility, and conducts regular visits to all shifts.
Key Responsibilities
Help ensure quality, safe and efficient operations are maintained at all contract locations which total over 1 million square feet
Coordinate and conduct field supervision and ensure proper scheduling of staff and sub-contractors
Work with the Senior Manager in the implementation and maintenance of the preparation of quality control and surveillance reporting, building operating plans, daily reports, custodial operations, snow plans, work schedules, and other related mechanical projects, to include adhering to various schedules and operational reports required to fulfill contract requirements
In coordination with the Senior Manager, maintain contact and regular communication with COR and tenant representatives to ensure work is performed per contract specifications
Work closely with TFM Management in meeting department goals and contract pricing renewal packages
Standard Qualifications
Incumbent must be able to sustain a suitable work schedule, have the ability to perform under pressure and respond in a timely manner for workplace emergencies as needed. Incumbent must have a proven track record of success, and be able to communicate both verbally and in writing, etc. at all levels.
Bachelors degree preferred in engineering, or suitable experience in the trades
Minimum of 7 years of O&M/ Facilities Management type experience with at least 4 years in supervisory role
Experience should be in operating buildings of the same approximate size, scale, complexity, and characteristics of the establishments managed
Clearance: Complete criminal history information background check. Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
