We are currently seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to join our team. The Portfolio Manager will play a crucial role in managing credit risk within the Commercial Lending Portfolio. This individual will oversee this entire portfolio including C&I, CRE, hospitality, and multifamily. Responsibilities include monitoring loan performance, helping to manage client relationships, overseeing workout credits, conducting accurate assessments of credit risk and trends, and collaborating with various bank resources to minimize the risk of loss.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze financial information for evaluating creditworthiness of new and renewal loan requests.
Manages and mitigates exposure for C&I, CRE, Multifamily, and Hospitality loans.
Conduct ongoing portfolio management activities within the bank's policies and procedures.
Complete industry research to support existing and new customers.
Compile comprehensive commercial loan packages, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Guide loan requests through the Credit Approval Process, ensuring alignment with client and bank objectives.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and bank policies for large commercial loan relationships.
Monitor and service large commercial loan portfolios through quality portfolio management work.
Properly grade the risk of each loan in the assigned portfolio and recommend adjustments as needed.
Assist Relationship Manager in credit presentations to Credit Administration and other leaders.
Ensure all required documentation is in file for loans and treasury management approvals.
Accompany Relationship Manager on calls with clients as requested.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal business partners.
Undertake special projects related to job function as assigned by Credit Administration Leadership.
Work with Relationship Manager, Credit Administrators, and Loan Assistant to minimize exposure.
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and prospects within the context of risk management.
Demonstrate commitment to fair lending practices and stay knowledgeable about relevant laws and regulations.
Build positive working relationships with attorneys, appraisers, developers, and other external partners.
Stay abreast of products and services offered by the bank.
Adhere to corporate policies and procedures, as well as federal and state regulations.
Follow regulatory requirements related to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), and OFAC.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year accredited institution.
Minimum of 10 years of underwriting or portfolio management experience with a bank or commercial finance company.
Strong understanding and experience using nCINO.
Experience underwriting C&I (Commercial & Industrial), CRE (Commercial Real Estate), Hospitality and Multifamily loans.
High proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
Solid grasp of loan and legal documentation.
Acute attention to detail with the ability to think critically and independently.
Exceptional attitude and commitment to teamwork.
Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Well-developed organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
