Primary role of the Senior DBA is to effectively manage the MSSQL Server & Oracle database instances and automation of database related processes. Experience with Cloud platforms like AWS & Azure and Knowledge of NOSQL databases like MongoDB and willingness to expand into non-relational data domains is a strong plus.
What you will do and achieve:
Database software installation, configuration and patching.
Ensure databases availability and integrity.
Institute reliable backup/recovery processes and SOPs.
Strong ability to debug/troubleshoot code issues and write efficient and scalable code
Monitor databases performance and perform database tuning.
Lead database related projects and effectively manage cross team collaboration for timely delivery.
Proactively provide transparency in work progress.
Management of large & complex Spatial databases.
Who you are:
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field of study.
Industry recognized certifications are a plus.
Experience
At least 3+ years of proven experience in database administration.
Database processes streamlining & automation.
Troubleshooting database performance and providing remediation.
Work organization and reporting skills utilizing tools like Jira/Teams to provide transparency.
Key Knowledge & Skills
Database design.
Database engine internals.
Database Coding – Procedures, Scripts, Functions etc.
Python or Shell programming.
Experience with Data migration.
GIS skills a plus.
Core Competencies
Able to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and to flexibly manage multiple priorities.
Implement best-practices in process and coding standards.
Documentation and change management. Enable easy review of database processes and modifications.
Strong ability to debug/troubleshoot code issues and write efficient and scalable code. .
Strong understanding of the hardware & storage technologies to optimize database availability and performance.
Experience with Linux, RMAN
