My client is a German Family Office who seeks a Head of Real Estate to manage its growing US property portfolio. Current holdings include $700m in multi-family sunbelt properties. This individual will be responsible for monitoring ongoing performance, identifying optimization opportunities, and working closely with local real estate service providers to implement measures that ensure the investment strategy is achieved from both an economic and environmental perspective.
The Head of Real Estate acts as the entrepreneurial owner representative for the real estate portfolio and as a strategic sparring partner to the CIO/COO and family governance bodies, reporting to the CIO/COO.
Overall responsibility for budgeting and forecasting, analysis and management of financial performance (NOI, cash flow, IRR, cap rates, etc.) and responsibility for regular reporting to executive management, co-investors and family governance bodies. Close collaboration with local US-based property managers and technical service providers, ensuring efficient, high-quality, and professional management of all properties. Support acquisition and disposal processes, portfolio reallocations and due diligence. Continuous development of standards, processes, and reporting structures.
Degree in real estate, business administration, finance or a related field.
Master's or MCRICS certification are an advantage.
Strong knowledge of the US real estate market and its legal framework.
Analytical and entrepreneurial mindset with a strong affinity for numbers and a performance-driven approach.
Excellent communication skills, both internal and external.
Experience working with family shareholders, investment committees, or comparable governance bodies preferred.
Entrepreneurial flexibility and a high degree of personal responsibility.
